Recent rolls (last 30)

A simple tool for everyday use. Don't rely on it for anything critical.

    How to use

    1. Choose how many dice to roll and how many sides they have, then select "Roll".
    2. You'll see each die and the total. Recent rolls keeps your last 30 rolls.
    3. Switch to "Coin flip", enter a number of flips, and select "Flip". "Reset totals" clears the coin counts.

    Reading the results

Each die shows a whole number from 1 up to its number of sides. For example, rolling 2 and 5 on two six-sided dice gives a total of 7. Coin results use Heads and Tails; the recent sequence uses H and T.

    Randomness and limitations

Rolls use your browser's cryptographic random number generator. Before turning a random number into a die face, the tool throws out the few values that would make some faces slightly more likely than others.

Streaks and lopsided counts are normal over a small number of rolls or flips. Use this tool for casual games and everyday choices. The animation is only a visual effect.

    Frequently asked questions

    Which dice can I roll?

    Choose 1 to 10 dice with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, or 20 sides. A D20 gives results from 1 to 20.

Does a ten-sided die include zero?

This tool shows 1 to 10. If your rules use 0 to 9, treat a result of 10 as zero.

Does the animation change the result?

No. The results are chosen before the animation starts. Turn off "Show animation" to see them immediately.

    How are the results chosen?

The tool uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator and discards values that would make some results slightly more likely than others.

    Will my history be saved?

No. Recent rolls and coin totals are kept only while this page is open. Reloading clears them. "Clear history" and "Reset totals" work separately.
