How to use
- Enter minutes and seconds, then click "Start". Presets such as "5 min" and "10 min" start immediately.
- "Pause" stops the clock, "Resume" picks up where you left off, and "Reset" goes back to the time you set.
- Use "Stopwatch" to record laps, or "Date countdown" to count down to a date and time. Click "Stop alarm" when the countdown ends.
Sound and full screen
Click "Test sound" before you start. When sound is enabled, the alarm beeps three times, over and over, and stops on its own after about 18 seconds. Full screen enlarges the display. Press Esc to exit full screen.
How timing works
The countdown compares the current device time with its end time. For example, a 5-minute timer started at 2:00 PM ends at 2:05 PM, as long as nobody changes the device's clock.
Changing the device clock affects countdowns. Updates and alarms can be delayed in background tabs or while the device sleeps. Keep the page open and the device awake.
Frequently asked questions
Will I get a notification?
No. When time is up, the page flashes and shows an alert, and beeps if sound is on. It doesn't send push notifications.
Why is there no sound?
Click "Test sound", then check your device volume, mute settings, and browser audio restrictions. Sound depends on your browser and device settings.
Will it work if I close the tab?
No. Closing the page ends the timer. Background tabs, screen locks, and device sleep may delay or prevent the alarm. Use a device timer for anything time-critical.
Which time zone does "Date countdown" use?
It uses your device time zone. Check the target date and time shown on the page. The target is not saved when you close or reload the page.
